Our guided tour Valencia Silk Museum and Silk Exchange is two-hour daily walking tour with an official tourist guide to the two most emblematic monuments of the silk industry and commercialization in the City of Valencia: the Silk Exchange and the Museum and College of Major Art of the Silk.
First, we will visit the exteriors and interiors of the Silk Exchange, an authentic jewel of medieval Gothic architecture, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will discover its long history and awesome architectural and decorative details. We will enjoy impressive Contract Hall, beautiful Orange Garden and majestic room of the Consulate of the Sea.
Afterwards, we will visit the interiors of the Museum and College of Major Art of the Silk, which is also the oldest and largest trade union archive in Europe. We will discover the key historical moments in the introduction and development of the silk industry in the city of Valencia. On the second floor we are going to visit the noble rooms of the building: the Hall of Fame, the Pometa Room and the Chapel. Silk Museum exhibits spectacular collection of different garments, utensils and objects. In the end of the tour we will meet authentic historical silk looms from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Finally, you are going to have an opportunity to purchase silk souvenirs in the museum shop.
